held behind leading pair, ridden to challenge for 2nd 3f out, kept on, always held by winner
tracked winner, ridden over 3f out, kept on same pace final 2f
made all, stayed on strongly, eased near finish
pulled hard behind leading pair, ridden over 3f out, kept on same pace final 2f
Disappointingly just the four runners have been declared for this event and it is hard to get away from Munsef, who gets the vote ahead of Akarem and High Heel Sneakers. The last mentioned probably found the ground too testing when disappointing on his reappearance at Ascot last month and may do better today. Henry Candy's Summer's Eve did not progress as much as anticipated last term and again ran below expectations on her return at York so she looks best watched at present. Karl Burke's Akarem has given little real sign of encouragement in five starts this term and a safer wager looks to be John Dunlop's Munsef who seemed not to stay 1m6f in the Yorkshire Cup last time and looks worth another chance back over this trip on his favoured ground.
