The progressive Pretty Jewel has now won three of four starts this year after scoring easily over a shorter trip here last week. A penalty may not anchor her today but the faster ground is not ideal. Reckless Wave wasn’t beaten far when fourth over 1m2f here last month and Arcadian Cat goes handicapping for the first time after struggling in Listed company but GIFT OF HERA (NAP) makes more appeal. Sylvester Kirk’s filly faces a more difficult task today but is worth sticking with despite a penalty given the manner of a wide-margin victory over 1m4f at Wolverhampton last week.

Arcadian Cat (USA) 6-1 (9-0) Led early, tracked leader, effort over 2f out, soon ridden, kept on same pace, no chance with front pair when lost 3rd inside final furlong, 4th of 6, 7 3/4l behind Sea of Class (9-0) at Newbury 1m 2f lst fll stks (1) gf in May.
Gift of Hera 5-2 (9-9) Not much room start, towards rear, close up over 5f out, headway to lead over 3f out, ridden clear 2f out, unchallenged when edged right inside final furlong, easily, won at Wolverhampton 1m 4f hcp (6) pol in May beating Kingofthesingers (9-9) by 10l, 7 ran.
