In this Listed race, Expensive is selected ahead of Laurentina and Harvest Queen. Expensive won an average Listed race last time on the all-weather and might, on another day, look vulnerable but it is hard to fully gauge the chances of the opposition so she can go well. Chatila was very useful at two but was seen only once last season. The market might guide as to how ready she is for this race. Harvest Queen was beaten off a mark off 92 in a handicap last time, so her run will tell you something about the quality of the race. Chantilly Tiffany did it well enough on her Newmarket debut but this represents a big jump in class, while Laurentina was disappointing at Sandown last time but had looked progressive at two, on which form she would hold good claims. It is a bit of a headscratcher, really, with the selection, based on recent form, being Expensive.
