        Verdict

        Smokin Beau gets the vote here ahead of River Thames and Devine Dancer. Smokin Beau has now dropped to a good mark and, given that he is a course and distance winner that comes here in good heart following a good Windsor run, he looks the one to beat. Savious Spirit looked good in winning on his Windsor return but has a six-pounds rise to defy. Now with Kevin Ryan, River Thames showed a bit more sparkle at Thirsk last time and, if building on that, should get involved. Devine Dancer was beaten a whisker over course and distance from today's mark two runs ago and has to come into it based on that. Marko Jadeo holds place claims based on his Windsor run last time. Calypso King was behind him there but holds good claims if getting back to his Chester winning form of 2005. Finally, Chinalea is more than capable of going well from his current mark and a good run is not ruled out, but Mujood has it to prove from hs current mark, although first-time headgear is being applied today. Once again, though, the selection is Smokin Beau.
