Petara Bay has had just the two starts since winning last year's renewal with Harlestone Times behind but was beaten out of sight on both occasions while Shubaat has disappointed twice since scoring at Musselburgh in April. Tom Queally's presence in the saddle suggests Late Telegraph is preferred to stablemate Solar Sky after last month's second on the Polytrack but the progressive Vasily makes more appeal than both stepping up in trip and has the beating of A Boy Named Suzi. Very Good Day won nicely over 2m at York last time and has been placed over C&D but his owner's colours are also worn by FRANCISCAN. The latter's latest run in soft ground at Haydock can be forgiven as he'd looked on the upgrade when winning at York before that and Luca Cumani has won this three times since 2004. Recent C&D runner-up Life And Soul makes most appeal of the remainder.
