Those drawn on the far side in the big handicap at Ascot last week had absolutely no chance but many ran well, principal amongst them being demonstrate. John Gosden's colt was well fancied for that big handicap and ran a stormer coming clear of the field in the far side but due to the draw bias finished only seventh. Demonstrate will be out for quick compensation. Wherever Demonstrate finishes Scotty's Future shouldn't be far behind judged on their running last month, and Mark Johnston's inmate might prove the better value of the pair and could go close. Calcutta has turned over a new leaf of late and Smirk (closely matched with Calcutta) is another whose chance should be respected. Muchea has been knocking on the door of late and together with stable companion Millennium Force has a bit of a squeak in a very tough race.
