Verdict

Fluff 'n' Puff, Just Reuben, Palouse and Klondike Charger look to be the principles here and the vote is given to the last mentioned. The selection is a game old sort who loves it round here and he could be the answer to this tricky contest if he is in the mood. He was a little disappointing on this track last time but if he ordained to put his best foot forward then he would take plenty of beating and he could be the value selection in the race. Fluff 'n' Puff would have claims on the pick of his form from last season, but he has not been seen on the racecourse since March and he may well need the run on his seasonal reappearance. Just Reuben's three career wins have all come over this course and distance so he has to be respected even if he is a bit one-paced. Palouse put up a fair effort last time when second behind Another Joker and the slight step up in trip is in his favour so he could go well, but for the winner we return to Klondike Charger.
