Verdict

Icarus Dream did nothing wrong when making a winning hurdling debut at Plumpton last week and gets the vote to follow up over the newcomers Tell The Trees and Cannon Fire. The last mentioned is the highest rated of these on the flat and, with the Evan Williams stable in good form, the Grand Lodge maiden has to be respected. Martin Pipe trains Tell The Trees so cannot be ruled out lightly but is nothing out of the ordinary on the level and may not represent much value. Stratford winner Taranai has struggled under a penalty in two starts since and is likely to do so again, while Introduction was a well-beaten fourth on his hurdling bow and is difficult to recommend. Of more interest then may be another of the newcomers with the John Hills-trained Green Falcon just preferred to Varuni among those not previously mentioned. Icarus Dream had respectable form on the flat though and made a pleasing start to his new career at Plumpton. A reproduction of that effort may suffice.
