A number of these are fit from the Flat. Isle of Wolves, Spice War and Ventura Magic are on that list and Lilypad won over timber at Newton Abbot and Uttoxeter before running down the field on Tapeta. Fume took a big step forward in his first handicap over a bit further here last month while Glimpse Of Gold is unpenalised after winning a conditionals’ race at Uttoxeter earlier this week. Three-year-olds are always worth a second look in handicaps at this time of year as they get a massive weight-for-age allowance and HISTORIC HEART (NAP) had his victory at Sedgefield boosted when the second bolted up over this track and trip next time. Nigel Hawke’s unexposed gelding looks worth sticking with.
