The three-year-old Born Legend hadn't shown much before a very impressive victory against her own age group in a Bangor maiden though this is a tougher test against older horses. OUR MERLIN (NAP), who might have won at Plumpton last month but for unseating his rider three out, returned there to gain a facile victory last week for which a 7lb penalty looks inadequate so he should complete a quick double. Argyle did a bit better at Lingfield last time though is still a maiden after 15 career starts but Marmont will be better suited by the quicker ground than most. Sensible Friend hasn't had much experience and makes his handicap debut with a big weight.
