Ventura gets the call ahead of Affrettando and Orchestrator, with Fine Art World perhaps one to note. Although without a run to her name this term, Ventura surely sets the standard on the evidence of her very promising debut effort at Lingfield last October when a close sixth behind the very useful Dalvina. She was only three-lengths behind Ed Dunlop's filly that day, and this half-sister to three winners, owned by Khalid Abdulla, is expected to progress well beyond maiden company this year. Affrettando was slowly away on his Lingfield bow behind Napoleon Dynamite, but picked up well in the closing stages to finish third, and can reach the frame at least, while Orchestrator did not get the best of luck-in-running on his Goodwood return, so is also worth a mention. Fine Art World sets foot on a racecourse for the first time, but this well-related gelding, whose dam hails from the family of Barathea and Gossamer, will be placed to good effect in time. Ventura gets the sex allowance here though, and sets the standard for the others to aim at. If anywhere near fit, she can come back with a bang before going on to better things.
