slowly away, always behind
held up in touch, chased leaders over 2f out, soon one pace
held up in touch, headway over 2f out, chased winner over 1f out, stayed on under pressure to lead post
tracked leaders, driven to challenge over 3f out, weakened final furlong
led, pushed along over 2f out, driven clear over 1f out, headed and no extra post
tracked leader, ridden to challenge over 2f out, weakened over 1f out
held up, never dangerous

From a short list containing Hatch A Plan, Bowled Out and possibly Icannshift, for this race, we will side with Hatch A Plan. Hatch A Plan got back to winning ways at Windsor last time and, still quite well weighted based on the best of his 2004 form, cannot be ruled out of another good run today. Bowled Out is three pounds below a winning mark from last September and was only just denied from this mark over ten furlongs at Newmarket last time so rates a danger to all, while much as Tayman disappointed at Newmarket last time, his run before that behind Gringo suggested that this lightly-raced gelding is no forlorn hope here. Gouranga did not run too badly on her handicap debut at Newbury last time and could improve again. Mustang Ali got back to winning ways at this track last time, but now has a career-high Turf winning mark to defy if going to score, while course and distance Icannshift cannot be ruled out as he wins in his turn and is racing from a winning mark today. With the others having a bit to prove, we feel, we return to the selection, which is Hatch A Plan.
