Anything that Lady Herries sends out has to be respected but Kokkokila is likely to struggle in a race where THE COMPOSER is marginally preferred to Ned Ludd. John Portman's gelding has slipped to a fair mark and has every chance having run his best race for some time when a close third at Goodwood when last seen in May. Jim Boyle's Marcus Antonius has found one too good in each of his last two outings and may be booked for place at best again, while Mid Wicket probably needs further help from the handicapper. The vote then goes the way of Michael Blanshard's The Composer, who deserves to get his head in front having been running well in defeat of late and he has been given every chance to do so racing off a mark of just 47.
