Royal Sovereign is selected ahead of Celtic Spring and Outside Edge. The Greg Chung trained gelding had been off the track for nigh on a year prior to his run at Brighton but kept on really well to run the best race of his short career. He has realistic claims in this heat if he can build on that performance on this softer ground. Outside Edge should be in the mix but isn't one to rely on when the going gets tough and an eyeshield is the third variation of headgear that he has raced in in five starts; he remains opposable. Celtic Spring makes her handicap debut tonight and her latest effort at Lingfield offers encouragement; she will need to improve but is one to keep a close eye on in the market. My Flame's best run of the year came here and both he, and Bye Baby Bunting may feature but Royal Sovereign is our idea of the winner.
