In depth

Verdict

It will be interesting to see how the draw pans out but a high draw may prove to be an advantage if the ground is on the soft side so we'll give Penton Hook the chance to redeem himself. Spit And Polish and Never Lose are others that have shown enough to think that they can feature. There are a couple of interesting newcomers for whom market support would be of interest and the market certainly spoke in the selection's favour at Lingfield last time. He lost all chance when running wide at the bend but should have no such problems here. Never Lose shaped satisfactorily behind an easy winner at Yarmouth and improvement would put her in the picture as it would for Spit And Polish. Cabo Polonio got worked up ahead of her debut and may well be capable of a good deal better. She has a soft ground pedigree and could be interesting if the rain continues to fall but Penton Hook has the better form and we'll take him to make it third time lucky.
