Crystalline can prove the one to beat here, with Kalmimi, Velveteen Rabbit and Mitraillette all likely to prove troublesome. Quite a few of these fillies will pay to follow in time but more immediately, David Loder's Crystalline is expected to build on her promising third to the odds-on Road Rage at Newmarket a fortnight ago. The daughter of Green Desert kept on really well when the penny dropped and should know more now. It could also be significant that she runs here rather than at headquarters on Saturday and the hint should be taken. Kalmini dead-heated for second at Goodwood but did have the benefit of a previous outing, while Mitraillette will appreciate the step up in trip but looks nothing special on the evidence so far. Velveteen Rabbit hails from the Godolphin yard that has been firing in plenty of juvenile winners this season, and was sent off as market leader here last time. She did well to go so close after tracking across from a low draw but has once again been drawn on the stands side. However, her stamina will come into play and she can give the selection Crystalline most to do.
