TOBAGO BAY holds reasonably solid claims and may be able to get the better of last-time-out winners Saxona and Wintebrook King. Whitcombe Spirit could be a danger if running up to his best whilst Perception and Extreme Pleasure are relatively unexposed but their recent form isn't inspiring. Towcester bumper winner Saxona battled on really well to win over two miles at Carlisle but it's the testing nature of those tracks as well as the shorter trip that concern us more than the rise in the weights. She's opposed on that basis but it's harder to pick holes in the form of Winterbrook King who appears to be versatile with regard to underfoot conditions and is unexposed at this trip. This is a quick reappearance on much faster ground though so there looks to be some mileage in taking him on with Tobago Bay. Sheena West's useful juvenile hurdler didn't appear to last home at Bath where plenty of use was made of him but he'd previously got to within a head of victory over this course and distance. He's got a short absence to overcome but isn't badly treated and has gone well for this jockey in the past so it looks worth taking a chance with Tobago Bay.
