A tight betting heat but Contrary Mary comes here in good heart and is there choice to follow up last week's Folkestone success. The Jon Akehurst-trained mare was expected to need the outing on that occasion but still produced a fine turn of foot to score more convincingly than the winning margin would suggest. The extra furlong will be in her favour and, sure to be sharper for an outing, she should prove hard to beat at this level. Glencoe Solas caused an upset when landing a Kempton maiden on her recent return but needs to improve against more experienced rivals while Ile Michel has claims on the pick of last year's form but the yard has made a slow start to the campaign and he is probably best watched on his seasonal return. Kinsman will be fitter than most having been kept busy on the all-weather during the winter but has a little to find on these terms and is on a long losing sequence.
