The biggest field of the day for the last on the card and one where mudlark MICK IS BACK is given the vote ahead of Kilkenny Bay and Alfredtheordinary. The last-named represents the in-form Mick Channon and comes here fit and firing after making the frame on each of his last five starts on artificial surfaces. He gets this trip and although unproven on heavy ground, he has shown that he handles some cut, so he is much respected. Even so, he does tend to find on or two too good for him and so we will look elsewhere. Kilkenny Bay is a filly being brought along steadily by William Jarvis, but she ran an encouraging race at Wolverhampton last time. This step up in trip looks a positive, while her pedigree suggests that this ground will also be in her favour and she could go very well at a price. Holyfield Warrior has winning form over the sticks on bottomless ground, so today's conditions won't worry him. However, of more concern is his recent form. This trip should be ideal for him and if he can show some more spark then he can go close. Another to consider with conditions as they are is the Diktat mare, Felicia. The yard's runners are going well enough and she could get involved, although on balance there are others with more solid claims, including our selection, Mick Is Back.
