Verdict

COOLE WELL is comfortably the top rated here and receives weight all-round. A winner over fences in May, he completed a double in selling races in the summer before joining new connections and making a promising comeback in a Leicester claimer. Scudamore is rated 11lb lower and has to concede 8lb so he looks up against it though he's produced two good runs in novice company and has much more scope than the selection. Thomas Kershaw was a shock winner of a Uttoxeter maiden last May but hasn't built on that while Vanderbilt is 0-56. Quiana, a three-times a winner on the Flat in France, has been beaten a distance in handicap hurdles the last twice.
