While Egefour's last time out victory in a Southwell maiden was impressive we prefer the chances of BRIERY STAR to land this Mare's handicap hurdle while we also consider Petit Fleur. The pick was well held last time by what has turned out to be a nicely handicapped runner. That effort was off this mark and based on her novice form it is a rating that might prove to be on the low side. Egdefour was a seven length winner in maiden last time but it appears that her mark might be a little high for her handicap debut considering who she beat that day though she is entitled to go well. Petit Fleur has, at least, been given a chance to be competitive by the assessor for her handicap debut. She won a modest maiden last time over a shorter trip at Newcastle and ran on well enough to suggest the extra yardage is in her scope. Santera looks to be up against it a little with her mark looking a little high while Crow Spinney has to find more to overturn some form on the pick who is Briery Star.
