    Verdict

This may prove to be a rather modest but nevertheless competitive maiden hurdle and RED LANCER tops our list of possible winners with Shut The Bar and Intensifier expected to give the gelding a run for his money. The selection was a runner up on his hurdles debut last time on his first start for the George yard. He is without a win since taking the 2004 Chester Vase but looked well last time and looks capable of following up with a victory here. George Baker's Shut The Bar has been successful at the last two attempts on the flat this year. He makes hurdles debut today and looks a fair prospect. Intensifier has been rather disappointing in his last two attempts over the hurdles but has performed well in similar events to this in the past. The five-year-old is still searching for a first win and we expect the search to continue but he is capable of making the frame. Arniecoco has performed with credit on his only two outings over hurdles this year. He made his debut over turf and hurdles just two starts ago and looks progressive and is in with a chance of making the minors here. For us though RED LANCER gets the verdict.
