Verdict

Selection goes to CRANK HILL who is marginally preferred to Clifden Boy and Campden Annie. The selection won in emphatic style over 3 miles at Towcester last time. First time cheek-pieces brought about much improvement for the gelding. The victory showed he is capable on a slower surface and there may be a lot more to come in the headgear. Sarah Robinson's Clifden Boy looked a little sketchy over the hurdles last time but has been the runner up at the last two attempts. He looks much improved since pulling up on his first two starts over hurdles and has shown enough to suggest he may find a race off this sort of mark. Campden Annie hasn't had the best of luck when racing here in the past but she comes here today off a good run and she looks progressive. Market referral is advised for the rest who have been poor performers recently. It should be close at the front though but we think Crank Hill can just edge it.
