In depth

Verdict

Tony McCoy came here a year ago to ride PERCE ROCK to a narrow victory over Conna Castle in this and though 4lbs higher the double looks achievable. Tommy Stack's charge has blundered his way around on his last two starts but the yard could win races with the stable cat at present and the combination can prove too good for Willie Mullins' pair Golden Silver and Jayo. After victories over Watson Lake and Tranquil Sea in December the former started odds-on when runner-up to Big Zeb in the Grade 2 Tied Cottage Chase at Punchestown in January before being firmly put in his place behind Colm Murphy's star in the Champion Chase. Jayo hasn't achieved enough to suggest he can beat his stablemate but the veteran Mansony is a regular at this level and found 2m4f beyond him in very testing ground at Navan last time. Psycho, who scored here yesterday, would enter the argument if fully recovered from his exertions.
