Polar Champ will be a popular choice to regain the winning thread here, but he will have to put behind him a disappointing effort at Southwell. Prior to that effort, he had rattled off a hat-trick in minor events and will be a tough nut to crack in this. However, a chance is taken with Mr Ben Gunn to lower his colours. He probably put up his best performace in defeat last time, when attempting to give plenty of weight away to two useful sorts in the shape of Sir Toby and Chevalier Beyard, who had won his previous start. The selection gets a handy 12lbs form the Pipe runner and is taken to come out on top. Ask Henry is an interesting newcomer, but the market is likely to prove the best guide to his chances.
