This doesn't look the strongest of races on paper, but several of the big yards are represented. Shenandoah has looked slow to date, while Howdydoody will surely be better for this outing, having not seen a racecourse for two and a half years. Newcomers Balinahinch Castle and Whereareyounow would not have to be anything special to make a winning debut, but a chance is taken with Gandon, for whom this step up in trip should prove ideal. A winner on the All-Weather over two miles, he clearly stays very well and has been found the ideal opportunity to lose his maiden tag over hurdles.
