QUADDICK LAKE is selected ahead of Mickmacgoole and Cnoc Moy. Better ground clearly worked the oracle as far as David Pipe's charge was concerned and while it is surprising that the drop in trip has been sought, he is effectively 3lb lower than on his recent victory as he receives no penalty for obliging in a conditional riders race. Mickmacgoole has always been something of a job horse for his connections. If the market speaks in his favour this afternoon, he must not be ignored. Cnoc Moy has Tony McCoy in the plate. He has dropped in the weights having not won since this time last year. Captain Becket looked in need of his first run for some time so can progress further. Tampa Bay had his chance against Spider Boy last time out and the form of his third to Spanish Conquest has been given a tremendous boost since. Bolton Hall ran his best race for some time at Stratford and it is conceivable that there could be a race within his compass off this current mark. Quaddick Lake gets the vote.
