At the head of the weights and with ground conditions against them both Uncle Fred and Veni Vedi Veci are first to be scrubbed off the list, with NOT IN THE CLOCK getting a tentative vote. Kieren Fox is rather making a name for himself in the saddle and his 5lb claim negates the 3lb rise this unexposed colt incurred for taking second at Lingfield, when looking both unlucky and inexperienced. The best is surely yet to come and providing he copes with the ground, which isn't a given on breeding, a big run is likely on his return from a break. Mr Harmoosh should be fine under conditions but the impression is that the handicapper may now have his measure after a narrow Windsor success, while Pha Mai Blue is 0-11 on turf and edges up the weights in defeat. Ermyn Express is a Selkirk filly who will appreciate every drop of rain but along with stablemate Ermyntrude she's done little to encourage us of late.
