made all, clear 1f out, pushed out, comfortably
close up, ridden over 2f out, no extra inside final furlong
held up in touch, effort on outer over 1f out, soon one pace
chased winner, ridden 2f out, no impression
steadied start, in touch in rear, ridden over 2f out, no impression
David Simcock's Mark Twain ran much better when chasing home Christmas Carnival at Haydock last month and has claims on that evidence but that was on soft ground and he may not appreciate the return to a faster surface so a better option may be to side with Roger Charlton's YABTREE, who probably found the going softer than ideal at Newmarket recently and he looks worth siding with back on fast ground. Michael Bell's Burghley seems a shade high in the weights, while Mark Johnston's Sailorman is hard to recommend after his recent starts. Paul Cole's Falling Angel should do better back on fast ground and makes more appeal than Chris Dwyer's Wise Up, who remains a maiden.
