A small field can be dominated by CONSTANT CONTACT, who is a confident selection to get the better of Dylanesque, Lord Aeryn and Pintura. The last-named was resolute in getting up to short-head Creevy at Warwick earlier in the week and has to shoulder a 6lb penalty here as a result. Quicker ground would be ideal for him to give his best in this follow-up bid and we will just field against him today. Lord Aeryn landed a 6f Ayr maiden on fast ground in July and was not disgraced when upped in class at York's August meeting. He was a beaten favourite that day and has been dropped 2lbs since, and with the step up in trip likely to suit he is much respected. Michael Jarvis prepared Dylanesque well enough to land her maiden at the second attempt when she showed a good attitude at Yarmouth. A sound surface suits and a mark of 78 looks reasonable for her nursery debut. A market check is advised. Kurtanella is 5lbs higher than a Polytrack success at Kempton but has gone well from this mark over course and distance and looks very competitive, though we prefer the claims of Constant Contact. Andrew Balding¿s colt ran on really well to take a maiden here over this trip last time, when the going was described as it is today. The handicapper did not miss it, having installed him here on a mark of 85, but there was plenty of zip to his performance and we think he can enjoy a winning nursery introduction.
