Verdict

Highland Avenue was absent for 428 days before running a creditable third behind his Derby-winning stable companion Adayar in Group 3 company last month. He has a sound claim on that evidence as he was well clear of Regal Reality, though the latter probably didn't give his running that day. Escobar has been a fine servant to his yard and continues to earn his keep in high-class handicaps and Listed company. He should run his race again but KOLSAI is more tempting in receipt of the significant weight-for-age allowance. Never out of the first two in four starts, he's open to considerable progression and didn't get the run of the race last time.
