This is a smashing line-up for the Vodafone Rose Bowl and, from a shortlist that contains Fruhlingsturm, Blythe Knight, Spanish Don, Kew Green and Red Lancer, we will side with Blythe Knight. We are going to take the view here that the first-time visor will bring about the required improvement in the selection to land a race of this nature, something that this course and distance winner has always threatened to do. Now, he has collateral form with the progressive Kew Green, who has done so well this year, and Spanish Don, who also looks set to go well. Basically, Spanish Don is now eight pounds better off for the four lengths he finished behind Kew Green at Newmarket in May, and Blythe Knight is ten pounds better off for the six lengths that he was beaten. Furthermore, Blythe Knight is two pounds better off for the length-and-a-half that he was beaten by Colisay in a falsely-run affair at Newmarket on May 7th. One other form snippet is that Danelor is now ten pounds better off for the four-and-a-half lengths that he finished behind Kew Green at Kempton in April. However, in conclusion, and allowing for the fact that the course and distance Fruhlingsturm could be a danger to all on his handicap debut, and the fact that last year's Chester Vase winner, Red Lancer, now looks on a decent mark, we will side with Blythe Knight.
