Miss Velocity appeared to have a good chance in a better handicap than this at Naas on Wednesday and started favourite. She could only finish fourth behind Bewitched but can still get competitive here. Queenie Keen makes her handicap debut after the required three runs and was by no means disgraced when third behind the promising Bethrah at Limerick. Charles O'Brien had a big-priced double at Naas on Wednesday so it may not be too much a problem that Sharp Steel, a winner over the C&D in October and only 3lbs higher, is making his reappearance. He had Sassaway and MISS FAUSTINA close up in the places when he was successful here and with a 3lbs pull and a fitness advantage following a fine return at Leopardstown the latter may have made enough progress to turn the tables on the winner and runner-up.
