Banner Road landed a touch when scoring over 6f here last time with THE KERNIGAL just under 2l behind. The assessor has taken a dim view with a 10lb rise for the winner and left the runner-up on the same mark so the positions should be reversed, especially as the latter will be suited by the extra furlong. His trainer, Ger Lyons, complicates matters by also saddling top-weight Mount Meru, who scored over the trip at Down Royal before finding Canaille just too strong over a mile here two weeks ago. Gary Phillips is good value for his claim and his mount looks certain to get involved. Aquilonius and Habesh were both close up but will need to find more. Tannery could prove a real threat on her handicap debut as she was only a head behind the odds-on Choral Society in a fillies' maiden over the C&D last time and is definitely on the upgrade.
