Emmpat must be one of the most versatile horses in training and Charlie Swan's veteran can never be left out of the reckoning, especially as the ground will be no problem. The Fonze is a better chaser than hurdler but he won nicely in this sphere at Kilbeggan last month and had a spin on the flat at Limerick last week. Valain hasn't had much racing recently but was in excellent shape at this time a year ago on fast going and should go well though there's no denying the chance of SARTEANO here. Dessie Hughes' charge bounces off fast going as he has shown recently with victories over fences here and on the level at Tramore. He's progressed nicely over hurdles and this looks within his capabilities.
