Silidan has performed creditably this term and Mel Brittain's gelding has to be respected off his light weight in a moderate contest but a better bet looks to be Ermine Grey, who gets the vote with Guildenstern rated the pick of the remainder. The selection was good value for his Chepstow success at the beginning of the month before probably finding the ground too testing on a return visit to the Welsh venue. He looks worth another chance back on better ground today. Wahoo Sam showed improved form when landing an apprentice handicap at Nottingham recently but he has more to do off a 5lb higher mark today, while King of Legend is less exposed than most of these but has yet to show that he is as effective on turf as he is on the Polytrack. Grand Diamond ran much better at Musselburgh last week and he has claims on that evidence from the in-form Jim Goldie stable but a bigger threat may come from Paul Howling's Guildenstern, who has been running consistently well of late. Ermine Grey has been doing little wrong recently though and he is taken to resume winning ways.
