This is usually an above average maiden that tends to go to one of the leading yards and this time Seeway fits the bill, while it would be no surprise to see Himalaya and Rawaaj make good introductions. The John Gosden-trained Seeway was only just held on debut at Haydock when he got the hang of things in the second half of the race and was doing his best work at the finish. That experience will not have been lost on him and he looks capable of going one better on ground that he should act on. Himalaya is very well related and comes from a yard that has hit top form with its juveniles in the spring. He has the pedigree to go well at sprint trips for now and should be thereabouts. Rawaaj is another beautfiully bred runner who represents Sir Michael Stoute here. He is likely to improve for further with age but this should be a nice start for him. It is worth keeping an eye on the market for the chances of that trio, plus Mark Johnston's Takaatuf and Dr Smart, but we will side with Seeway to land this maiden.
