    Verdict

Gralmano may well have needed the run on his return following a two-month break in the Mallard over course and distance last time but preference is for Flotta, who gets the vote over Classic Millennium. The last mentioned has been raised 3lbs for her recent success in an apprentices' handicap at York and, with Lisa Jones claiming a valuable 3lbs, she cannot be dismissed lightly. However, Flotta represents a stable in top form at present and gave every indication that he would stay this trip when running on over a similar distance on the Knavesmire earlier this month. He looks worth a bet to go one better. Mumbling often runs well in small fields so it would come as no surprise to see the Mark Tompkins-trained runner take a hand off his current mark, while the consistent Distant Cousin is another worth considering. However, Flotta has solid claims and is difficult to oppose.
