This can go to James Caird, who is taken to appreciate this ease in grade and get the better of Freeloader, Mark Of Zorro and Leo Boy. The selection found himself a little out of his depth in warm handicap at Newmarket last time but still ran better than his finishing position would suggest as he failed to pick up when it mattered in what was a tactical contest at HQ. However, he is much better judged on his previous performances and, with the trip and ground sure to suit, James Caird is given a chance to redeem himself in this company. Mark Of Zorro is exposed so Freeloader, whose stable has just started to hit form after a nightmare of a season, may be the one to capitalise if James Caird fails to deliver.
