A tricky sprint as always but narrow preference is for the unexposed FLYING STATESMAN. Richard Fahey's gelding was beaten out of sight on his reappearance at the track but he stepped up on that when beaten only a length by Summerinthecity at Haydock last month. Adaptable in regards to the ground, he looks a major player with Paul Hanagan back in the saddle. Iver Bridge Lad is kept busy and he continues to run solid races, whilst Tajneed might win this were it run at Ripon. Secret Witness continues to do nothing wrong and he is respected despite a lifetime-high mark of 100, but a better handicapped horse may be Knot In Wood but his recent form is very patchy. Quest For Success and Golden Desert are two more solid yardsticks for the race, whilst others to mention include Advanced now back over six furlongs and Baby Strange whose course form is rock solid. The return to a flat track will suit Summerinthecity after his average Goodwood run but along with recent Kempton scorer Mac's Power is respected.
