Prominent in the ante post markets for the Lincoln, Zaahid failed to make the cut for the big race but can gain compensation here on ground that will suit and he gets the verdict ahead of Don't Panic and Plum Pudding. The last mentioned has prepared for this by running twice on the Polytrack of late and, having shown improved form at Wolverhampton recently, Richard Hannon's gelding has to be respected but he may want faster ground. Troubadour has similarly been in good form on the Polytrack of late but may now be a shade high in the weights, while Orchard Supreme looks well treated for his return to turf but is much better on the Polytrack. Hoh Wotanite has been punished for his improved form on the artificial surfaces and of more interest may be Samarinda, although he may want a faster surface. Peter Chapple-Hyam's Don't Panic will not mind the surface and he has to be respected but preference is for Zaahid, who is taken to make a winning return.
