Interim Payment has enough potential to follow up her reappearance win, with Lysandra and Namathej seen as her most serious rivals. Roger Charlton has adopted a patient policy with Interim Payment who only returned to the track earlier this month, having had a temperature in the spring. Fifth behind Dash To The Top on her Leicester debut last September, she was sent off as favourite on her return to action at Bath 17 days ago, and did not disappoint her backers despite racing a bit lazily, getting the better of Pugilist by a head. Her trainer reckons that she will make up into a nice handicapper, but who knows, she could even be Listed class in time, and she looks the one to beat here. Lysandra came from behind to land a muddling handicap at Newbury at the end of last month, her second success of the season, but it remains to be seen whether she has more to offer. Namathej appears to have been reluctant to go on and win her races and Ed Dunlop is thinking about trying her in a visor in future. As for Mintlaw, she will come on for her belated Hamilton return, and her trainer is hopeful that she will stay 10 furlongs on this faster ground. However, the one with the most potential is Interim Payment.
