In depth
Verdict
We will opt for the Kevin Darley-ridden Times Review in the finale, with the main dangers seen as Popsys Footprints and, possibly, Kamanda Laugh. The selection has held his form pretty well and confirmed he had trained on when running Benbaun to a length-and-a-half at Haydock on his seasonal return, with Jamie Osborne's Morse back in third. Much as he has been raised two pounds for that run, he was entitled to be and catches our eyes as the most-likely winner of this race. The Barry Hills-trained Kamanda Laugh has been raised four pounds for getting short-headed at Warwick last time, which seems a bit harsh, and Western Roots' form on Turf has yet to match his decent Lingfield efforts. Outer Hebrides two runs since he won on the all-weather have been disappointing although the form of his maiden second to yesterday's Lupe winner Halicardia last July now has a much better flavour to it. The form of Poppys Footprints run behind Oddsmaker at York last time was a best-yet effort, so she could improve again now that she has been dropped a furlong today, but the others looked pitched in at just about the right mark - ones that make the chances of others appear more preferable to us tonight. And of these, the one we like most of all is Times Review.
