Solar Spirit was good value for his win over six furlongs at Pontefract last month and Alan Swinbank's colt has to be of interest back over seven furlongs that he raced over on his only start as a juvenile but he looks plenty high enough in the weights and preference is for Bere Davis, who gets the vote over Throne of Power. The last mentioned was not beaten far in a Newmarket handicap on his return and he could be of interest on only his third career start. Richard Hannon's Firestreak has yet to race this season but the yard's runners could hardly be in better form and he has to be respected on his reappearance. Peter Chapple-Hyam's Azeer gave little sign for encouragement on his reappearance and looks best watched on his handicap debut, while Jonny Lesters Hair has more to do than when landing a Thirsk maiden last time. The vote then goes to Bere Davis, who represents in the in-form yard of David Evans and he deserves another chance having narrowly lost out to Mega Watt at Chepstow last week.
