In depth

Verdict

Despite her impressive form figures, Bond May Day has been well held in lesser company of late and looks worth opposing at this level at the likely odds and preference is for Tuscan Sky. The Barry Hills-trained filly is related to a stack of winners in the States and showed she has plenty of ability herself when confirming debut promise to land a Newcastle maiden over this trip last month. The daughter of Gulch looks sure to progress again and can add to her trainer's impressive strike rate on Town Moor. Machynleth looked a useful prospect when making a winning debut in April but disappointed following an absence and now has something to prove while Captain Ginger had his limitations exposed in a minor event at Windsor last time and looks high enough in the weights. Flighty Fellow is fairly exposed and has much more to do after securing a narrow Thirsk maiden but Albany shaped with ability last time and may do better still on his handicap bow off a potentially lenient mark.
