      Verdict

Sarayat looked slightly unlucky when finishing third in the Vintage Stakes over 7f at Goodwood last time out and can gain compensation. The Michael Jarvis-trained colt held every chance having disputed the lead but his rider dropped his whip in the closing stages but for which he would surely have been closer. The drop in trip looks no problem for this pacey type who has the services of the in-form Frankie Dettori. Shouting The Odds shaped as though ready for the step up in trip having been outpaced over 5f in Listed company last time. The yard struck in the May Hill earlier in the week and this progressive type has to be respected. Al Turf was outclassed behind Elusive City in the Prix Morny last time and will find this level more to his liking having looked a smart prospect when making a winning debut previously. Ego is progressing along the right lines while newcomer Grand Halo makes plenty of appeal on breeding being from the same family as 1992 Derby hero Dr Devious.
