CHINDIT has passed both tests so far with flying colours and his latest success at Ascot looks very strong form. The second won next time at Salisbury, beating a subsequent Listed winner in the process. Jim Crowley prefers course and distance winner Albasheer to Newmarket scorer Mujbar but both are open to plenty of further improvement. Devious Company almost certainly found his latest race at Naas coming too soon after his second at York and he will appreciate a return to the trip over which he was second in Group 2 races at Newmarket and Goodwood in July. Saint Lawrence made all in a Newbury Listed contest four weeks ago but is also looking a little exposed.
Albasheer (IRE) 17-2 (9-5) Settled in mid division, ridden to challenge over 2f out, took over 1f out and pulled away, pushed out to win cozily, won at Doncaster 7f stks (5) gf in Jul beating Alablaq (9-5) by 6 1/2l, 12 ran.
Broxi (IRE) 28-1 (9-1) Led, ridden and edged right 2f out and approaching final furlong when headed, no extra, 3rd of 8, 3 1/2l behind Gear Up (9-1) at York 7f Grp 3 stks (1) gd in Aug.
Chindit (IRE) 15-2 (9-3) Carried right start, held up rear of mid-division, headway over 2f out, switched left over 1f out, led inside final furlong, ran on, comfortably, won at Ascot 7f lst stks (1) gf in Jul beating Cobh (9-3) by 1 3/4l, 10 ran.
Devious Company (IRE) 2-1fav (9-2) Mid-division, ridden and no impression under 2f out, kept on one pace inside final furlong, 9th of 19, 5 1/2l behind Chief Little Hawk (9-4) at Naas 6f stks sft in Aug.
Mujbar 9-2 (9-0) Tracked leaders, moved smoothly to lead well over 2f out, ridden and quickened clear over 1f out, ran on strongly, won at Newmarket 7f stks (5) sft in Aug beating Marlay Park (9-0) by 7l, 9 ran.
Saint Lawrence (IRE) 11-2 (9-1) Made all, pushed out final furlong, stayed on well, unchallenged, won at Newbury 7f lst stks (1) gs in Aug beating Dhahabi (9-1) by 3/4l, 6 ran.
State Of Rest (IRE) 8-1 (9-4) Held up towards rear, 18th 2f out, ridden in 9th 100 yards out, stayed on to go 4th close home, never nearer, 4th of 19, 2 3/4l behind Chief Little Hawk (9-4) at Naas 6f stks sft in Aug.
