This is a meeting that Barry Hills has traditionally done well at and he has won this maiden twice in recent years so CHAIN OF EVENTS makes the short-list along with Munsarim and Muwalla. The majority of this field hold entries for Group races and they include Alfonso The Wise, Coordinated Cut and Tactician. As ever, the market will be instrumental. Munsarim is sure to have learnt from his debut at Newmarket where he stayed on quite well in the closing stages. It appeared to be an above average race at the time and the race has thrown up a few winners. Muwalla has contested maidens at Beverley and Warwick and shown ability on both occasions; he's looked in need of a mile on both starts and shouldn't be underestimated. Neither should Quick Reaction although he needs to make significant progress so preference is for the Faringdon Lodge runner. He made a pleasing debut behind Emerald Commander at Newbury and should benefit from both the experience and the extra furlong on offer. The race is better judged on the form of those behind rather than the winner and it has taken plenty of knocks which has to be a concern but we'll give the benefit of the doubt to Chain Of Events.
