Although it might prove costly to take the form of Amanda Carter's Haydock win literally, there was plenty to like about the way she scored over this trip at the weekend and she is taken to defy a 6lb penalty here, with Cotton Eye Joe very much respected. The Richard Fahey-trained selection strung them out like washing at the Lancashire track, and also has a fast ground c&d win here to her name. The yard is in tremendous form and she is hard to get away from. Cotton Eyed Joe is 6lb higher than his highest winning mark which is as a result of a c&d success on good to soft here last month. Alan Swinbank's gelding holds his form well and he is not opposed lightly. Sporting Gesture is just 2lb higher than when winning at York 10 months ago and also has c&d winning form, though Mick Easterby's runners are not red hot. Heathyards Pride is on a simialr mark to his last turf win and fast ground suits, while Boz is respected from the same mark as Great Leighs staying success, now visored for the first time. A good little race then and we'll take Amanda Carter to score.
