A chance is taken with Golden Dixie, who edges preference over Plateau, Peopleton Brook and Grogorovitch. That said, Frascati has threatened to win a race like this all season and is worth noting in the betting market. Grogorovitch is far less exposed than most and arrives here in good heart after wining at Musselburgh last month. A 4lb rise looks fair and this lightly raced three-year-old can go close for each-way backers. Similar comments apply to Peopleton Brook, who is consistent and has already enjoyed a profitable season. However, he is creeping up the weights without winning and now has a bit more on his plate. Plateau can never confidently be ruled out in this type of contest and, as the solitary representative of David Nicholls, he has to be respected. However, preference goes to Golden Dixie on this occasion. Good to firm ground is absolutely spot on for this in-form gelding and, with Mark Savage taking a very handy 3lb off with his claim, everything looks in place for bold effort at a fair price from the selection.
